First Pot, then Booze, now Coffee
Submitted by art on Thu, 2008-05-08 05:57.
We've reported on the benefits to people with MS of pot and booze, so now it is coffee's turn.
It's animal data, but we'll take what we can get when it allows us to rationalize another vice. I'm hoping for the study that says sex helps stop MS, but I don't know how they'll get the mice to cooperate.

Great news. Saw this a week
Great news. Saw this a week or so ago haven't slept since ....
So now my diet is Coffee, Evening Primrose Oil, Glucosamine, Vitamin D, Prozac (Another recent addition), Ginko (washed down with red wine) ... I haven't got time in the day, or room in my stomach, to break the saturated fat rule for a Swank diet even if I tried.
All I need now is to get pregnant and I'll be cured! Just need to persuade my wife on a few of the detials.
More seriously, do these "potentials" ever get tracked to a conclusion? Seems that a lot of mice are doing very well out of MS reserach money.
Vitamin D is starting to get
Vitamin D is starting to get some research traction. Not nearly as quickly as it should, but it *is* happening.

The sooner the better. My
The sooner the better. My doctor has agreed to prescribe me an a trip to the Carribean as soon as Vitamin D is proven to help.
I don't know about "stopping
I don't know about "stopping MS", but I certainly am pain-free for a half-hour after sex. I know it's hormones and endorphins ... but can't they bottle it? My initial dx was fibromyalgia -- the overall pain and stiffness is with me 24/7, except for that golden half-hour.
On the flip side there is
On the flip side there is also evidence that coffee lowers your uric acid level (some believe a higher uric acid level is beneficial to MS). Caffeine is good, coffee maybe not.
pot, booze, coffee...... wow
pot, booze, coffee...... wow these medications are hardcore
Why the
Why the prudishiness?.....All things in moderation, sex being the exception.......
