Stem cells used to create new oligos in mice

For the first time, researchers at UC Irvine have used human embryonic stem cells to create new insulating tissue for nerve fibers (oligodendrocytes) in a live animal model (in mice)– a finding that has potentially important implications for treatment of spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis.
